【本校陳永森校長拜會加拿大國會議員 促進臺加原住民交流】

國立屏東大學(NPTU)陳永森校長於今(113)年7月應駐加拿大臺北經濟文化代表處邀請,接待來自加拿大的原住民事務國會議員團,並安排其參訪本校與原住民相關的事務與原住民文化園區。此次活動讓來訪的國會議員們印象深刻,並收穫頗豐,尤其是來自艾德蒙頓選區的議員Mr. Blake Desjarlais,他表示希望藉由雙方的訪問,持續推動台加兩國原住民的交流與合作。President Chen of National Pingtung University (NPTU) hosted a delegation of Parliament of Canada on Indigenous Affairs, invited by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada, in July 2024. The visit included a tour of NPTU’s Indigenous-related initiatives and the Indigenous Cultural Park. The delegates of Parliament of Canada were deeply impressed, with Mr. Blake Desjarlais, the MP from Edmonton, particularly expressing his hope that this visit would strengthen ongoing exchanges and cooperation between the Indigenous peoples of Taiwan and Canada.
此次行程在駐加拿大臺北經濟文化代表處曾厚仁大使(Ambassador Mr. Harry Ho-jen Tseng) 的協助與支持下,經過充分討論與籌劃後得以順利展開。Mr. Blake Desjarlais邀請屏東大學陳永森校長及陳皇州國際長於11月6日前往艾德蒙頓(Edmonton Griesbach)選區進行文化交流訪問。此次行程精心安排,涵蓋了數個具有深遠意義的文化參訪,包括Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society、亞伯達省議會(Legislative Assembly of Alberta),以及與Papaschase First Nation的午餐會議。這些活動不僅加深了兩國原住民文化的理解,也為未來的合作奠定了基礎。The itinerary for this visit was made possible with the assistance and support of Ambassador Mr. Harry Ho-jen Tseng of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada. After thorough discussions and careful planning, the visit was successfully carried out. Mr. Blake Desjarlais invited President Chen and International Affairs Dean Chen Huang-Chou of NPTU to visit his constituency in Edmonton (Edmonton Griesbach) for cultural exchange. The carefully arranged itinerary included several meaningful cultural visits, such as the Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society, the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, and a lunch meeting with the Papaschase First Nation. These activities not only deepened the understanding of Indigenous cultures between the two countries but also laid a strong foundation for future collaboration.
屏東大學將持續關注與原住民文化及議題相關的國際合作,期望在促進兩國教育與文化交流的同時,也為學生與師生提供更多國際學習與發展的機會。National Pingtung University will continue to focus on international collaborations related to Indigenous cultures and issues. The university aims to promote educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries while providing students and faculty with more opportunities for international learning and development.
