【國立屏東大學出訪加拿大 拜會維多利亞大學 推動國際教育新合作】
繼6月初加拿大維多利亞大學（University of Victoria, UVic）來訪國立屏東大學（National Pingtung University, NPTU）之後，屏東大學陳永森校長特別藉此次出訪加拿大的機會，於11月4日再次拜會維多利亞大學，深化雙方的合作關係，推動國際教育合作新契機。此行由維多利亞大學教育學院院長Jo-Anne Clarke博士（Dean, College of Education, Dr. Jo-Anne Clarke）熱情接待。Following the University of Victoria's (UVic) visit to National Pingtung University (NPTU) in early June, President Chen of NPTU took the opportunity of this trip to Canada to visit UVic once again, aiming to deepen the cooperative relationship between the two institutions and foster new opportunities in international education collaboration. The visit was warmly hosted by Dr. Jo-Anne Clarke, Dean of the College of Education at UVic.
在本次會晤中，雙方就簽署合作備忘錄（MOU）達成共識，加方提供了初步草案並同意提供交換學生名額，讓屏東大學學生得以跨國學習並體驗加拿大的學術文化環境。此外，雙方還探討了針對屏東大學學生的暑期英語學習營隊計畫，維多利亞大學將以優惠收費提供專屬的語言課程及豐富的活動安排，幫助屏東大學學生提升英語能力，進一步增強其國際競爭力。During the meeting, both parties reached a consensus on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). UVic provided an initial draft and agreed to offer student exchange slots, allowing NPTU students to study abroad and experience Canada’s academic and cultural environment. Additionally, they discussed a summer English learning camp tailored for NPTU students. UVic plans to offer specialized language courses and a variety of activities at a discounted rate, helping NPTU students improve their English skills and enhance their global competitiveness.
另針對原住民議題，雙校也表達了深入合作的意願，期望在學術研究及原住民師生交流方面加強合作，促進原住民族文化的相互理解與尊重。The two universities also expressed a strong intention to collaborate on Indigenous issues, seeking to strengthen partnerships in academic research and Indigenous student and faculty exchanges to foster mutual understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures.
屏東大學校長陳永森校長指出，這次拜會不僅鞏固了兩校的合作基礎，也為屏東大學師資培訓及學生國際化提供了重要的支持。維多利亞大學的多元化客製師資培訓課程，為屏東大學帶來先進的教育理念，助力專業人才的培養，並且為屏東大學拓展北美招生市場提供了助力。President Chen emphasized that this visit not only solidified the foundation of collaboration between the two universities but also provided essential support for NPTU's faculty development and student internationalization efforts. UVic’s diverse, customized teacher training programs bring advanced educational insights to NPTU, aiding in the development of professional talent and supporting NPTU’s expansion into the North American student recruitment market.
